Founder's Legacy
Jack Loewen
(1962 – 2022)
Our founder, Jack Loewen, established Loewen Partners with a visionary approach to global infrastructure and renewable energy investments. His strategic insights and commitment to sustainable development continue to guide our investment philosophy.
Before founding Loewen Partners, some of Loewen’s accomplishments include serving as a key advisor to the World Bank on infrastructure projects in Southeast Asia, pioneering one of the first major wind farm developments in the North Sea and founding a non-profit organization dedicated to providing clean water access in sub-Saharan Africa.
Loewen’s philosophy was deeply influenced by his experiences working with the Grameen Bank in Bangladesh, where he witnessed the transformative power of strategic, socially conscious investments. In 2010, he established a groundbreaking partnership between Loewen Partners and the Inter-American Development Bank, focusing on sustainable urban development projects across Latin America. His innovative approach to blending financial acumen with social impact earned him recognition from the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship in 2015. Today, Loewen’s vision inspires our approach to identifying and executing high-impact investment opportunities in emerging markets.
